The Virtual 303rd Fighter Group will conduct a Large Force Exercise to neutralize Red Fang’s operational capacity by destroying their Death Valley FOB Command Post, IADS, and Drone logistics compound while ensuring air superiority to prevent Redair interference on Blue forces.
This Large Force Exercise will train protection of allied forces and civilian populations by halting Red Fang’s advances Eastward towards Las Vegas in preparation for future combat deployment conditions.
Intel has found that “Red Fang”, a rogue faction of former Russian and Chinese military operatives and mercenaries, have seized key terrain in West Nevada between the Mojave River and Death Valley National Park. They have established FOBs supporting illicit unmanned air operations, including drones to disrupt allied training operations. Their Command HQ, IADS, and Drone logistics compound (dirt runway, fuel and supplies) are located in the Restricted Operating Zone (ROZ) labeled “RED FANG” in South East corner of R-2524. Red Fang threatens to advance the FLOT eastward toward Las Vegas suburbs. Additionally, Enemy air threats are expected from the northwest of the ROZ, necessitating BARCAP.
Intel has shown that REDFOR has a strong communication network and is extremely mobile. Objective area is a depot for drone launch and repairs, containing tools and spare parts for Red Fang’s fleet of MQ-9-like drones and smaller tactical UAVs.

Air Tasking Order (ATO) - Objective Red Fang
Server Mission Start Time: 0900
Objective Area: Red Fang, Southeast Corner of R-2524, between Mojave River and Death Valley National Park, ~70-90nm West of Nellis AFB
METAR: KLSV 021855Z 25207KT 10SM BKN140 28/10 A2995
Wind: 253° at 7 knots
Visibility: 10 statute miles
Weather: Broken clouds at 14,000 ft AGL
Altimeter: 29.95 inHg
Terrain Overview
High desert basin at ~3,000 ft MSL, surrounded by low hills and ridges (4,500–5,000 ft).
Rugged terrain with rocky outcrops, dry washes, and eroded gullies. A prominent north-south ridge at 4,200 ft MSL hosts Red Fang’s HQ, offering 360° visibility. Sparse desert scrub, camouflage netting, and natural rock formations conceal enemy assets.
Safe Escape Areas: Flow eastward toward Las Vegas.
MISSION
- Neutralize the Red Fang rogue faction’s operational capabilities in the Restricted Operating Zone (ROZ) labeled “RED FANG” to prevent disruption of allied training operations and halt their eastward advance toward Las Vegas suburbs.
- v93FS “Makos” (F-16): SEAD/DEAD and BARCAP.
- v303FS “KC Hawgs” (A-10): STRIKE and Air Interdiction.
- Flights will conduct coordinated air operations to destroy Red Fang’s air defense systems, command infrastructure, and drone depot compound while maintaining airspace security.
- Flight Leads are responsible for deconfliction when both squadrons operating in the AO at the same time. Especially important if IN close around the unforgiving valley terrain of this objective.
TARGET DETAILS
THREAT ASSESSMENT
- Ground Threats:
- IADS: Includes SAM HQ-22 (long-range), SAM SA-8 (short-range), and mobile ZSU SHORAD units. Continuous movement complicates targeting; exact locations at mission time unknown.
- FOB Defenses: Small arms, AAA and fortified observation posts around Command Post and valley with 360° visibility.
- Logistics: Truck fleet for mobility and resupply, vulnerable to A-10 gun runs.
- Air Threats:
- Expected Origin: Northwest of ROZ.
- Composition: J-11 Aggressor force.
Desired Endstate
- Primary Objectives Achieved:
- Destruction of TGT.DRONE.1, TGT.DRONE.2, and TGT.COMMANDPOST to eliminate Red Fang’s drone operations and command structure.
- Neutralization of SAM HQ-22, SAM SA-8, and other emitters to dismantle IADS.
- Airspace Security:
- v93FS establishes and maintains BARCAP 30nm northwest of ROZ, ensuring no Red Air penetration compromises AOR.
- Continuous threat updates provided to v303FS via STORM for safe STRIKE/AI operations.
- Secondary Objectives Achieved:
- Destruction of armor, logistics vehicles and infrastructure targets of opportunity to prevent Red Fang resupply and evacuation.
- Disruption of Red Fang’s operational sustainability and eastward advance toward Las Vegas suburbs.
- Force Preservation:
- No friendly losses; shootdowns managed via reset at MARSHAL HOLD or ARCO Tanker.
- Safe escape routes utilized (east toward Las Vegas) to avoid enemy observation and SHORAD.
- Mission Success Metrics:
- Red Fang’s drone operations and IADS rendered inoperable.
- Command and logistics capabilities severely degraded, preventing further threat to allied operations.
- Airspace over ROZ secured for follow-on operations.
