The Virtual 303rd Fighter Group will launch a Large Force Exercise (LFE) from Spangdahlem to neutralize REDFOR operational capabilities by destroying logistics nodes and key military assets while achieving air superiority IVO of Red FOB.

Flat heavily forested area at ~1000ft MSL, with rivers and small hills. Very little elevated terrain to hide behind.
Safe Escape Areas: Flow West/Southwest toward Spang/Marshall point.

• Neutralize REDFOR operational capabilities by destroying logistics nodes and key military assets while achieving air superiority IVO of Red FOB
• v93FS “Makos” (F-16): D-SEAD and BARCAP (Strike as required).
• v303FS “KC Hawgs” (A-10): Strike and Air Interdiction.
• Flights will conduct coordinated air operations to destroy REDFOR air defense systems, command infrastructure, aircraft, and artillery depot while maintaining airspace security.
• Flight Leads are responsible for deconfliction when both squadrons operating in the AO at the same time. Especially important for correct timing entering. Planning around a TOT is highly recommended.

Additional weaponeering recommendations in slides. A-10s are recommended to maintain a high degree of maneuverability due to proximity to other bases.

THREAT ASSESSMENT​

• Ground Threats:
  • IADS: Includes SAM SA-11 (medium-range), SAM SA-19 (short-range), S-60 AAA Battery, and ZSU-23-4 Gundish SHORAD.
  • FOB Defenses: Small arms, AAA and fortified observation posts around Command Post and valley with 360° visibility.
• Air Threats:
  • Expected Origin: Red Base
  • Composition: J-11 / JF-17 Aggressor force.

Desired Endstate​

1. Primary Objectives Achieved:
   • Destruction of all primary targets at T01 to eliminate REDFOR logistics operations and command structure.
   • Neutralization of SAM SA-11 and other emitters to dismantle IADS.
2. Airspace Security:
   • v93FS establishes and maintains OCA over Red Base, minimizing air threat to strike aircraft.
3. Secondary Objectives Achieved:
   • Destruction of armor, logistics vehicles and infrastructure targets of opportunity to prevent REDFOR resupply and evacuation.
   • Disruption of REDFOR operational sustainability and logistics operation.
4. Force Preservation:
   • No friendly losses; shootdowns managed by descending to 10,000ft and heading to MARSHAL point, then RTB.
   • Safe escape routes utilized (wast toward Spang) to avoid enemy observation and SHORAD.
5. Mission Success Metrics:
   • REDFOR logistics operations and IADS rendered inoperable.
   • Command and artillery capabilities severely degraded, preventing further threat to allied operations.
   • Air superiority achieved IVO Red Base for the duration of the strike.
